These people are too few and far between for Behemoth's liking, despite her habit of keeping people at arm's distance. Her unwillingness to trust and expose her vulnerabilities arose as a paranoid psychological defense to the very real dangers within Eos. The mutant is very much disillusioned by all the deceit and betrayal she has both witnessed, and experienced. That being said, she will come around to reciprocate genuine kindness at her own pace, and in her own manner. Pleasant company to adventure with outside of the city is always appreciated. The same goes for willing sparring partners for exercise, and anyone she can discuss perspectives and light philosophy with. Rumors and public opinion might paint her as a violent bully (and to be fair they're not entirely wrong), but she's just as much a normal person as everyone else is. The people she does keep close to her can rest assured that she will come running if they are ever in trouble, and that she will be taking no prisoners in her attempts to rescue her friends. As a Knight with a reputation for showing no constraints Behemoth has made a lot of enemies during her career. She’s dragged and thrown just as many people into the Trench as she has into medical wards with how rough she’s been, and she wouldn’t apologize for any of it. Citizens aren’t wrong to despise her, as she sometimes is representative of the very problems allegedly caused by the Council’s authority. She’s also not fond of noble families, and aristocrats are usually keen to pick up on this what with her irked expressions and obstinate tone of voice. Others may simply hate the fact that she’s a mutant with some degree of jurisdiction over them. Or more simply, Behemoth’s enemies are people that have betrayed her trust in the past. That has always been a quick way to earn her enmity, and an easy way to get thrown into through a wall. She holds nothing back from people she deems an enemy. Make her beast blood boil, and she would gladly show an offender just how savage she can be. Love is one of the last things Behemoth expects to find within Eos. The city has worn down her hope with all its troubles and perils. There isn't much good will left for her to even entertain the idea of a happily ever after. She has dabbled with several flings over the years, most of them against her better judgement, because even she gets lonely at times. Settling for something safe, brief, and ultimately meaningless often seems like the best compromise to her, for everyone involved. However, should the stars align themselves, Behemoth might cautiously put what little faith she has left into someone. To put it plainly and simply: be somebody that she can believe in. Avalon's "best friend", if Behemoth likes it or not.
Avalon's not exactly the most well-wrapped person in the Council. Her cruelty towards criminals and her horrifically dark sense of humor are always there to greet Behemoth when she brings the Trench prisoners. I get the image of Behemoth not cracking a smile at any of Avalon's poor attempts at joking around. I would believe Avalon chooses Behemoth to go out missions with her to capture wandering criminals, so there's obvious respect for her strength. Also, Avalon doesn't have any prejudice in her small body, so she wouldn't try to prod into Behemoth's personal life except for any questions about what she likes.
They even spare to keep one another sharp.
I would call them "Good Cop, Bad Cop" but I think they're both Bad Cops.
One is a little more direct while the other likes to torture people. |

Avalon vi LeomagneBFF's stomping all the baddies. Behemoth might not laugh at most of Avalon's jokes, but there might be a few that are dark and absurd enough to make even Behemoth crack a smile and chuckle. Would probably just encourage more jokes, wouldn't it? Avalon's chipper demeaner would be a welcomed change from the usual, though. Behemoth would appreciate her genuine pleasantries, and would never turn her down if asked to accompany the Warden. There's certainly a kinship between them what with their violent behaviors, and Behemoth wouldn't look down upon Avalon's torture. Its proven its effectiveness already, and Behemoth might even be curious to learn something or another to help with interrogations. Since Avalon is a busy person I imagine Behemoth would visit her in the Trench more often than not? It's not the friendliest of places, but the Warden's attitude makes up for that. She would even silently admire Avalon's blind loyalty to the Council. It's not something Behemoth can say she possesses, but at the end of the day Avalon's so happy with things compared to her own brooding thoughts. It makes Behemoth wonder what to do, sometimes. Bad Cops or not, it's an unusual friendship that Behemoth would be all for.

BehemothCool. That's simple enough. Quick and easy. So it'd be a relationship that can benefit them both since the Warden finds herself being lonely a lot. No one really visits the prison since it's both dangerous and remote. So, realistically, the fact that Behemoth makes the effort to come visit resonates with Avalon very well. If anything, it may progress to Avalon trying to push for Behemoth to have a more prominent place at the Trench, an assistant Warden of sorts. |

Avalon vi Leomagne Behemoth's future is a blank page right now, so her interactions with others will have a large part in shaping whether or not she tries for a captain's spot, attaches herself to someone for protection duty, or even takes a job at the Trench. So Avalon trying to push for something like that later on is a definite possibility. Was thinking about a thread for these two. Perhaps even a small story arc, if you'd like it structured that way. As was mentioned Behemoth would be happy to assist Avalon in wrangling up potential inmates. What if a scumbag who was in Avalon's custody pissed her off to the point she considered them a 'real' enemy worth her animosity? Then some legal proceedings happened that yanked them out of the Trench before Avalon could really lay into them. While the courts are being bogged down through manipulation, Avalon decides to hunt this person down. Maybe to catch them red handed with damning evidence, or carry out her own sentence in accordance with her personal code of justice as Warden? In the end Behemoth would trust Avalon's decision to take things into her own hands, since no one else knows the prisoners better. Could do a social thread first where Avalon pitches the idea IC while we get a feel for their dynamics together, then take things one step at a time from there making quests as appropriate. Busting someone who has info on the target that Avalon can sink her teeth into as an appetizer. Protecting a key witness in the trial from an attack. Stopping an attempted prison break of associated criminals. Things are open ended as far as possibilities. Maybe even have brief snippets of social threads in between to help nurture their friendship where they can do normal things together. Could be a long term project for them, if you'd like something like that. On the other hand, I'm down for a quick and dirty 'bag the badguy, take no prisoners' quest if you want something shorter.

BehemothI think starting off with an IC thread to set the groundwork always leads to a more natural relationship. I'm down for the long term plotting, so I think the idea of them having to protect a key witness would be cool for them. They're more of the brutal types, so it would be a nice juxtaposition for them. In addition to that, it would be themed under their first meeting, where they have only heard things about one another until the initial meeting. It'd give us something to develop on both sides of the IC and a bit of the OOC. I can start the thread if you'd like. |

Nothing plot heavy, just some mindless fun between two mutants who know how to hit and how to take a hit. [break][break] Watcher told me that Behemoth was also part of the group that found Rhyme in the ruin, and that got me thinking that maybe I could use the occasion as a springboard for Rai to get to know someone in the Council, both to expand his repertoire of contacts and to actually give some backbone to his backstory where he likes to bribe people to get out of trouble.[break][break] It could just be that Rai took notice of Behemoth’s abnormal physical attributes during the expedition to the ruin. He’s not above prodding her about her strange quirks; he’s naturally curious about how each mutant’s body works, because it’s a lot more interesting than just studying the anatomy of a plain ol’ human bean. Maybe he’d even want to see her power at full force up close, having only caught glimpses of it on the trip, which was hardly enough. Or maybe he just wants to use it as an excuse to make some connections.[break][break] Either way, ulterior motives or not, if Behemoth deems him good enough for a sparring partner, it could turn into a fun little fight, since (from what I gathered from her sheet) she’s all about brute forcing her way through her opponent with raw strength and her naturally durable body, which is something Rai isn’t particularly great at dealing with when the fight’s dragged out. On the other hand, Rai relies on his mutation to mitigate the brunt of the damage while delivering attacks that could defy the law of physics and bypass her natural barrier if given the chance, which could also be pretty tricky for her. [break][break] Maybe they’ll both come out of the fight a little wiser, or maybe they’ll end up hating each other’s guts. Who knows! But anyway! Thoughts? |
